Website design

Website design, or web design, is a general term regarding the way that content is delivered through the Web to an end-user, via a web browser or other web-enabled software. It can include all kinds of features depending in the type of website it is posted on, such as text, pictures, sounds, and interactivity.

The main difference between different pages on a website is that they are either static or dynamic, depending on the design of the website. Static pages remain the same with every request unless a human updates the page manually. The content and layout do not change, and standard HTML pages use this type of content most frequently. Dynamic pages can change the content and appearance of the website, which can be dependant on user, time, database alteration, and so on.

Website design itself is more often used to describe the aesthetic design of the site, styling, graphic design, which helps to separate it from the similar but still highly distinguishable concept of website programming. In more recent times, it has become necessary to differentiate between the two, as the two of them have grown to be less associated with each other.

There is also a need for web design to conform to certain accessibility rules in order for it to fully provide its function to the website users. If such rules are not followed properly, then the website can risk becoming unclear and failing to do what it has set out to accomplish.
